Chai Latte Bringing On The Happy

This week was filled with countless amounts of chai.

I recently gave up all forms of coffee, and chai lattes became my go-to alternative. It’s sweet taste and cozy feeling makes it a high-key perfect substitute. Most of this week I’ve been buying a cup at my local coffee shop, however it’s not the most cost efficient. I found this recipe for homemade chai from allrecipes.com. It’s so yummy.

Here’s how to make it, and everything you’ll need.

    Chai Latte Ingredients:

    • 1 cup of milk

    • 1 cup of water

    • 1 large strip of orange peel

    • 3 whole cloves

    • 1 (3″) cinnamon stick

    • 3 whole black peppercorns

    • 1 pinch of ground nutmeg

    • 4 teaspoons of white sugar (add less/more depending on how sweet you want it)

    • 2 teaspoons of black tea leaves

Here’s my shorter/more simple impression of what the directions were saying:

Pretty much you just dump the milk and water into a pan and put the heat on medium-high. When that gets all warm and yummy, dump all the other things into the same pan and bring to a boil. Bring the heat down to medium-low and simmer until the color gets all pretty. Strain it, et voila! Your homemade delicious chai is done. Drink up! Also, try sprinkling some cinnamon on top. It’s amazing!

I love this drink. Curling up with a good book and some chai is one of the best feelings, in my opinion.

    Enjoy friends!
