We love the Youtube channel of Mr. Kate which shines with her hilarious sense of humor and stellar design skills. Here she shares 3 different ways to decorate the same space, using a dorm room as an example. But really! You don’t need to live in a dorm room to benefit from these awesome decorating ideas.
1Boho

First up is the Boho room in neutrals with lots of soft touches. Pillows fill the bed to make it more couch like and a Moroccan pouf adds an extra space for friends to sit and chat. The crochet curtain hung behind the bed brings a luxurious touch to the space and disguises the drab bed frame. The cane chair for the desk is a thrift store find. Yay thrift stores! Brass accents on the desk and bedside table give the space a relaxed warmth.
2Modern Eclectic

The second space is decorated in a Modern Eclectic style, mixing dark colors with black and white art. Quotes and photos are simply attached to the wall with the current favorite – washi tape. The dark blue bedding is made more inviting with a collection of patterned and fuzzy throw pillows. Light is added to the room with a white lamp and modern Eames style chair at the desk. Finishing off this cool space, is a large potted plant and a butterfly chair offering the perfect reading area at the foot of the bed.
3Color Pop

The final space Pops with Pink and plays up a fun sense of style. The bed anchors this room with a bright throw blanket and pillows in peach and pink tones, with tie dye fabric hanging from a copper pipe! At the foot of the bed is a copper ladder, which is both a conversation piece and a place to store your favorite pieces. Donut print wrapping paper hung behind the desk, creates an inexpensive yet impactful statement of color and pattern. Additional pops of color and shapes on the desk add even more personality.
